CITY CENTRAL REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT
The Fennville Downtown Development Authority (DDA) is pleased to present two
(2) vacant Sites (the “Sites” also referred to as “Parcels ‘A’ and ‘B’) to be
purchased and redeveloped by qualified developers. Sites are located in the City
Center of Fennville Michigan. All properties included in the Sites are currently
owned jointly by the City of Fennville and the DDA.

This RFP is for a real estate developer to purchase, develop, own and operate
and/or sub-divide and sell the Sites, in accordance with the specifications and
guidelines set forth in this RFP, Zoning Ordinance and other applicable
regulations. The project calls for construction of a building with a footprint of
approximately 12,500 sq. ft. on each site. Two or three story buildings will be
considered, with first floor retail/business use and second and possibly third floor
residential and office use. Specific guidelines and recommendations will be found
in sections 1 and 2 of this RFP.

Heritage Trail Marker & Community Bulletin Board Installed in Green
Space
A kiosk designed to display notices of events within the community has recently
been installed in the Green Space next to the post office. Notices about local
events of general interest to the community may be posted here. Contact Lisa
Shaffer at City Hall to post a notice. Notices must meet criteria established by the
DDA board of directors.
One of the first Heritage Trail Markers in the county has also been installed in the
Green Space. In honor of MaryAnn Moeller Day, and her involvement with the
Heritage Trail society, MaryAnn Moeller cut the ribbon officially dedicating the
marker.
FACADE IMPROVEMENT LOAN PROGRAM

The DDA has developed a program to provide financial incentives for local
businesses to improve the exterior condition of their buildings. Examples of
eligible improvements include: signs, facade alterations, painting, awnings,
windows, entrances, window replacement / repair, masonry work, electrical
fixtures, architectural assistance, materials and labor.
Qualified participants in this program may be granted loans at interest rates
significantly below the market rate. Loans are provided by local lenders in
amounts ranging from $5 thousand up to $150 thousand.
All improvements must be approved by the City of Fennville Downtown Design
Review Committee. They will consider compatibility of each design with those in
the area.
