Fennville High School Announces Top Ten
Graduates for the Class of 2009


Fennville High School proudly announces the Top Ten graduates for the Class of 2009.  
The Valedictorian is Nicholas Van Til, son of Jim and Tami Van Til.  Nic earned a 3.95 GPA at
Fennville High School and will be attending Grand Valley State University in the fall.  While
at GVSU, Nic will major in Business.  The Salutatorian for the Class of 2009 is Jeremiah
Shields.  Jeremiah is the son of Brian and Marie Shields.  Jeremiah earned a 3.91 GPA at
FHS and will be enrolling in the Marines following Graduation.  Upon completion of his
enrollment he will pursue a career in Dentistry specializing in Orthodontics.

The following students complete the Top Ten Graduates for the Class of 2009:
Michael Martin, Amber van Wieren, Kayla Clements, Charles Stennett, Trevor Crane,
Brooke Bowman, Janet Sampson, Kelly Gaskins



Local Scholarship Awards

On May 12, 2009, many seniors from Fennville High School were honored at Senior
Honors Night.  Fennville Public Schools has an extensive Local Scholarship Fund.  This
year over $200,000 was awarded to Fennville High School graduates as part of local
scholarships.  The number one criteria for earning any of these scholarships is graduation
from Fennville High School.  The Fennville community is very generous in supporting their
graduates and the tradition behind the local scholarships is nothing short of outstanding.
