Fennville DDA Open House
March 14, 2011
The Fennville Downtown
Development Authority (DDA) is
pleased to announce an “OPEN
HOUSE” to show the public the
final drawings for the streetscape
project that will begin in early summer.
The event is open to the public
and will take place on Monday, March 28, 2011 at the Fennville
District Library, in the basement. It will begin at 5:00pm and last
until 7:00pm. DDA members will be available to answer any
questions.
The Streetscape project is the result of a $500,000 grant from
the state of Michigan. In addition, the DDA applied for a
Transportation Enhancement Grant (TEA) from MDOT. In
October 2010, the grant was approved for $366,000. The TEA
Grant will help add details to the streetscape enhancement. All
totaled, we will have $866,000 to enhance downtown.
The project will replace the sidewalks on both north and south
Main Street from the tracks to Fennville Tire Center, along with
other details. Currently, the state has released the job for
bidding. Once the bid has been accepted, we will have a
Business Advantage meeting with all businesses affected by the
construction. At that time, the construction schedule will be
announced.
For information regarding all construction during the summer,
we will provide updates on www.fennville.com and on the city
facebook page.
